Rules for using Public WIFI by CERT



You device will by hacked by cyber criminals if you are using public wifi. A red alert has been declared for public wifi users by Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). There is a high chance of cyber attacks at railway stations and Airports for using public wifi.

CERT said in a report that by using public wifi hackers can gain access to your important information like; credit card numbers, passwords, email, chat messages. So user might loose their vital data. Mostly Android, IOS, Linux, MAC and Windows OS users have to face these challanges when using public wifi. To avoid risk CERT is suggesting user of using VPN(Virtual Private Network) services.


Data security organisation Kaspersky said in a report, for wireless networking WPA and WPA2 encryption techniques is mostly used. But both these two security features can be break by cyber criminals by using key re-installation attack techniques. To avoid risk, users need to check for lock sign icon in left side of their address bar.
